This Fort Collins Woman is Getting Launched into Space

Unlike the infamous Balloon Boy, Dr. Serena Auñón-Chancellor actually works for NASA.

According to NASA, before she was a flight surgeon living in Russia, a trained astronaut, resident on the Aquarius underwater laboratory, Space Camp Hall of Fame Inductee, or graduate of George Washington University and University of Texas, she was a Poudre High School student, class of 1993.

And, obviously a very, very smart one. It was at that time that she went to space camp, at the age of 16.

She will be on the Expedition 58/59 to the International Space Station in November of 2018.
