The View Gets What They Deserve After Talking Smack on Miss Colorado [VIDEO]
I'm incredibly proud of Kelly Johnson and how she represented Northern Colorado and the state in the Miss America Pageant. However, I don't think the hosts of the View expected the kind of backlash they received after mocking Johnson and her monologue about being a Registered Nurse.
If you missed it, during the talent portion of the Miss America Pageant, while other contestants showed off their ability to sing and play the violin, Johnson showed off her talent... taking care of people who are suffering from Alzheimers. Anyone who knows a Nurse, LVN or CNA know that this is one of most difficult jobs anyone can have. It's thankless, back-breaking, and rewarding for those who have a heart to help others.
Johnson performed a monologue of what it's like being a Nurse, sharing some of the moments on what and why she does what she does as an RN. Nurses make more direct contact with the patients than anyone... PERIOD! They are the glue that holds everything together.... and Joy Behar felt it necessary to mock this. Pointing out that she walked out on stage in scrubs with a "doctor stethoscope," while another host said she was just reading some e-mails.
Joy, please try to hide your ignorance on the situation and understand that more than just Doctors carry stethoscopes.... Apparently for Joy, someone who can belt out a karaoke rendition of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" is more important than someone that may have a talent for comforting a loved one through the night when they are sick and confused and they don't know where they are.
Apparently, I'm not the only one that feels this way, as social media has exploded, demanding an apology. However, I don't think an apology will suffice, as all I would expect from an apology is a sarcastic reaction to public opinion about how their remarks were taken "out of context." If you really want to make an impact, Joy and the other hosts of the View should spend a day shadowing Johnson and other nurses for a day-- a whole day-- so they can get their hands dirty and see what nurses do and how important their jobs are.
You can read some of the reactions below, and we will see if they issue an apology. This post has nothing to do with Joy's comments, however enraged viewers took to this post to voice their anger as this topic seemed more important in their "View."
Purin is one talented pooch!
