The Department of Defense recently announced the death of Sgt. Christopher W. Mulalley who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Sgt. Christopher W. Mulalley, age  26, from Eureka, California, passed away on 22 August in Gardez, Afghanistan. His death was not combat related and the incident is under investgation.

Sgt. Christopher W. Mulalley was assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. Mulalley’s awards include three Army Commendation Medals, four Army Achievement Medals, two Army Good Conduct Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Medal, NATO Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge and Marksmanship Qualification Badge Expert with Rifle.

Sgt. Christopher W. Mulalley leaves behind a wife and two young sons.
