While South Dakota, Wisconsin and our neighbors to the north, Wyoming, are some of the most relaxed states in the U.S., a new study from WalletHub claims Colorado's strict COVID-19 regulations come second only to California.

'In order to determine the states with the fewest coronavirus restrictions, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 18 key metrics,' WalletHub said. 'Our data set ranges from whether child-care programs and restaurants have reopened to whether the state has required face masks in public and workplace temperature screenings.'

Colorado ranked 50 as of July 7, though back in May, Colorado was at 33, and moved up to 31 at the end of May. While Colorado did begin to reopen bars and restaurants for dine-in around Memorial Day weekend, Governor Polis has since re-closed bars in order to prevent a summer surge like some other states are seeing.

Fortunately, when WalletHub examined COVID-19 Death Rate Vs Restrictions, while Colorado is among the strictest in the nation, it is also in the low death rate portion of the chart. So... wear your mask.
