You Need to Check Out This Colorado Whiskey Cocktail Lounge

If you are looking for a unique experience when it comes to whiskey, but still screams Colorado, I have just the place for you to check out. This weekend, my wife and I wanted to have an actual weekend. Not just a run errands and do chores type of weekend, so we hopped in the truck and went to a place we would both love.

Stranahan's: The Colorado Whiskey

If you know even the slightest bit about whiskey, you know about Colorado's favorite single malt whiskey, Stranahan's. The Denver distillery offers plenty of insight to how the single malt whiskey is made on the tour, which I would highly suggest if you have never done it before.

Since we took the tour years ago, we decided to visit the cocktail lounge. Stranahan's Cocktail Bar, located inside the distillery at 200 South Kalamath Street, has been rated the number one whiskey bar by Yelp reviewers, and for good reason.

The cocktails offered at Stranahan's are unique, yet familiar. Plus, there are so many different variations and expressions of the Stranahan's single malt whiskey for you to try. Numerous bottles were offered to taste of the highly sought-after Snowflake expressions, the Mountain Angel series, and there are even distillery only exlusives that would be a prized possession for any whiskey lover.

As always, my go-to cocktail is the Old Fashioned, and that is exactly what I ordered. You simply cannot go wrong with a drink like that at a world-renowned whiskey distillery.

My wife decided to be a bit more adventurous when it came to choosing cocktails. Her first drink at the Stranahan's Cocktail Lounge was the S'more What? This drink is the campfire treat in a glass, made with graham cracker-infused Stranahan's whiskey, crme de cacao, and marshmallow egg foam, then toasted to get that roasted element.

Another cocktail with a unique twist is the Espresso Martini, featuring brownie-infused Stranahan's, Copper Door espresso, coffee liqueur, and Orgeat. This was by far one of the most flavorful espresso martinis we've ever had, hands down.
