Being a new mother is challenging enough in itself, but it can be even more difficult when you don't have access to the proper resources.

That's where Stork Support of Northern Colorado comes in. Since its inception in 2018, the non-profit has been providing local under-resourced families with essential maternity, postpartum, and newborn products — including Postpartum Recovery Kits.

"It's a practice of giving and receiving. There are so many resources in Northern Colorado. Trust in the abundance in our community," said Nikola Reinfelds, Executive Director of Stork Support of Northern Colorado, in our "Tuned In to Noco" interview. "Our dream is...that we really do become that family that so many of our new families here in this community are lacking. We're trying to build a community."

Right now, the organization is particularly in need of maternity clothes, bath items, diapers, and wipes. You can stay up to date with their designated donation days on social media or their website. Financial donations are also accepted via Venmo at @StorkSupport.

Families in need can also get in touch with Stork Support of Northern Colorado through social media or by attending Homeward Alliance's upcoming Family Resource Fair.

The organization will be at the event from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 28) at the Northside Aztlan Community Center (112 E Willow St. in Fort Collins), distributing diaper bags and providing information to expecting families.

"I'm focused on getting the work done and continuing to help as many people as we can," said Reinfelds. "Everybody has a story. Every story is important. We are all worthy of love."
