Both of the skunks were tested and came back positive. So far in 2018, there have been 12 rabid skunks found in Larimer County. Five of the twelve skunks were located in Fort Collins. Skunks and bats are the most common animals to get rabies in Larimer County. Skunks are a greater risk for warm blooded mammals since they have more of a chance of interaction. If you happen to see a skunk or a bat with strange behavior, you are asked to call the Larimer Humane Society's animal control line at 970-226-3647
