Here we are, almost a week later and Broncos Country is still abuzz over the team's signing of Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks.

Granted, it's not actually going to be officially a done deal until the league's year truly starts on Wednesday in free agency but it's all just a matter of crossing t's dotting i's.

It's certainly understandable how excited fans are about the Broncos' first legit quarterback since Peyton Manning retired back in 2016. It feels like a lifetime ago, but so does this little fun fact about Russell Wilson that could've seen him playing for another professional sports team in Denver.

A lot of people don't realize what a tremendous athlete Russell is outside of football. In fact, he's stated several times throughout the year that outside of football, his true love is baseball.

Sure, Russell Wilson is all in for football but currently, his major league baseball rights are owned by the New York Yankees but Russell was actually drafted by the Colorado Rockies back in 2010 when he was in college.

Crazy right? Even though his baseball rights are controlled by the Yankees it's kinda cool to see how his athletic career is coming full circle back to the city where he was drafted to play baseball.

I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we see Russ showing off his arm at Coors Field for a first pitch.

However, the most exciting thing will be seeing the man show off his skills just down the road at Empower Field at Mile High and the excitement is back in Broncos Country.
