
Beloved Denver Drum Shop to Close After 41 Years
On a street in south Denver stands a musical instrument shop that has been in business for over forty years. Soon, this shop will close its doors for good.
Rupp’s Drums Ends a 41-Year Legacy
On Friday, July 18, the Denver drum shop located on South Holly Street announced via Facebook that after 41 years of serving Colorado drummers, the shop has reached its final chapter.

Alex Simpson purchased Rupp's Drums in 2018 with a goal to revitalize the legendary business and pump up Colorado drummers across the state. The announcement said that after seven years of financial success and more than 15,000 new customers served over those years, the goal was achieved.

However, this will not stop Rupp's Drums from closing its doors. The Facebook post says that effective immediately, all inventory will be liquidated, and the final day of operation for the iconic Colorado drum store will be on August 31, 2025.
Farewell Message to Colorado Drummers
As a lifelong customer whose own life and career have been deeply shaped by this business and the passionate people behind it, I share wholeheartedly in the sorrow you may feel hearing this news.
But I urge you to remember this: the depth of our grief reflects the depth of the joy and love this special place brought to our lives. In that spirit, I hope this news inspires reflection on many cherished memories Rupp's Drums has created for generations of Colorado drummers.
