A man was taken into custody after following a woman home and attacking her car in north Fort Collins.

According to a press release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Collins Aire Mobile Home Park on North Timberline Road on a report that a man - later identified as Les Austin Johnston, 26 - had followed a woman and her small child home, exited his vehicle yelling at her, and banging his fists on her car.

The woman and her child were not injured.

The man drove a short distance away and exited his vehicle once again shortly before deputies arrived.

Johnston began acting erratically and aggressively toward deputies as they questioned him about the incident, so he was detained. However, he began resisting and kicking the deputies, striking one in the chest and face. Additional deputies responded and they were able to gain control of Johnston.

Johnston is being charged with 2 counts of second degree assault, resisting arrest, DUI, and harassment, with bond set at $2,000.
