Residents in Colorado Facility Ordered to Shelter-in-Place Due to Weather
The weather has seen many extremes in the state of Colorado over the last month, but the high winds today have forced one facility in the state to send out a word of caution.
According to the Facebook page for Fort Carson, officials at the facility are asking for everyone to shelter-in-place due to the high winds and adverse weather conditions. They state that blowing debris is making it a hazardous situation throughout the area.
There has already been reports of very strong winds throughout southern Colorado, with a gust at Pikes Peak registering 93 MPH and a gust of 101 MPH at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base.
The winds have also caused some very serious accidents throughout the region, including these shared via Twitter.
A high wind warning is out for most of the state on Monday, with Larimer County also included in the alert for the area.
