The weather is getting colder in Colorado and a park where the whole family is comfortable will be hard to come by. I'm not a parent, but when I was a kid, my mom would typically take me to indoor parks during the winter. She took me there because she didn't want to be cold and my coat probably had too many holes in it.

We are currently on a mission to find the best parks in Colorado for any occasion. If you have a park you would like us to highlight, let us know by sending us a message.

REI in downtown Denver quite possibly has the best indoor park inside of a store in Colorado. Many indoor parks come with a fee, but this play area is entirely free. Speaking of free, there is free parking for 90 minutes. That's pretty rare in downtown Denver.

When I was younger, IKEA had an epic play zone. There was a ball pit that I distinctly remember to this day. I had some great memories. REI Denver's play area is definitely better than what I experienced as a kid (sorry IKEA).

When I was a kid I thought the play zone was for me, but in reality, it was for my mom. She appreciated that there was a place to drop me off so she could have a break.

This indoor play zone is equipped with slides and little cave areas.

The Cool Theme

Since REI is an outdoor recreation store it makes perfect sense for the kid zone to be outdoor-themed. The bug in the photo above would've freaked me out when I was a kid, but nearly everything did back then.

This corner of the store is a great place to drop off the kids when you climb the rock wall or when you want to shop alone.
