
Positive Mad Cow Disease in U.S.: Are You at Risk?
This afternoon it was announced that there is a positive testing for Mad Cow Disease in California.
According to the Huffington Post, the USDA has confirmed a case of Mad Cow Disease in a Califonia dairy cow. This is the fourth confirmed case in the U.S. in recent years.
Officials with the USDA say that the cow never enter the human food chain and that all U.S. meat and dairy supplies are safe. The USDA goes on to say that the that milk does not transmit BSE, bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
The animals carcass is being held at a rendering facility in California and will be destroyed.
