Popular Colorado Lake Cuts Hours and Bans Alcohol For the Summer

A Colorado city has banned alcohol usage and cut the hours of operation for one popular reservoir on the Front Range. According to the City of Aurora, Colorado, the new restrictions will start on Saturday, June 8 until further notice.

The temporary changes will affect the Aurora Reservoir located at 5800 South Powhaton Road. The two new restrictions are just a few of the amendments to the Colorado reservoir.

New Weekend Hours at Aurora Reservoir

The new weekend hours at Aurora Reservoir will be 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Previously, the hours of operation were until 9:30 p.m. One of the additional changes to Aurora Reservoir includes the increased security staff on the weekends for the assistance of guests.

The possession and consumption of alcohol at Aurora Reservoir has been temporarily prohibited.

We are making these changes to improve the experience for all guests and to assist our staff in managing the large crowds we see during the warmer months.

Day pass entry fees into Aurora Reservoir cost between $10 to $15 during summer and $10 for non-summer months. More information on the new restrictions and hours at Aurora Reservoir can be seen at aurora.gov.
