The public keeps getting asked to name things, even though Boaty McBoatFace happened and no one will ever forget, and this is why we can't have nice things. I mean, Minnesota now has a snowplow named Plowy McPlowFace, and Colorado could be next.

On March 3, the Colorado Department of Transportation launched its 'Name That Plow' contest, and fortunately, it's for kids, because adults can absolutely not be trusted.

'CDOT has teamed up with Governor Jared Polis asking elementary school students across the state of Colorado to submit their best and most creative name ideas for 20 brand new CDOT snowplows joining the current fleet of plows in 2021,' CDOT said.

The winners will be announced in May. The winning names will be displayed on the plows with a sticker, and the newly-named plows can be tracked online during snowstorms.

If you — I mean, your kid — need some inspiration, here are the winning snowplow names from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, including F. Salt Fitzgerald, Ope, Just Gonna Plow Right Past Ya and, of course, Plowy McPlowFace.

NEXT host and World's Fourth-Hottest News Anchor Kyle Clark has offered some ideas, from 'Abolish ICE' to 'Defund The Plowice,' which is probably why CDOT made this a contest for kids.
