A Platteville middle school student was arrested on Friday after making threats. The student, a 15 year old boy, of South Valley Middle School allegedly made comments to his friend that he was going to shoot up the school.

The threat of a student put South Valley Middle School into a lockdown that lasted from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. according to the Greeley Tribune. Platteville Police investigated the comments and concluded that the student did not take any substantial steps to follow through on the threat.

The teen who has not been named since he is a minor, was arrested and charged with a class 1 misdemeanor for interference with an educational institution.
