When we buy goods in Colorado we do not do a ton of research of what is in it. Generally, we trust that everything inside of products that we buy is safe.

Most of the time products are extremely safe. We are not trying to scare anybody here. However, from time-to-time, we are reminded that there are dangerous materials within times that we use every single day.

This is a reminder of that.

A ton of products will be banned in Colorado by 2026. The products contain PFAs.  Here is a definition of PFAs by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.

...(PFAS) are a large, complex group of synthetic chemicals that have been used in consumer products around the world since about the 1950s...

PFAS molecules have a chain of linked carbon and fluorine atoms. Because the carbon-fluorine bond is one of the strongest, these chemicals do not degrade easily in the environment.

PFAs are commonly used, but Colorado is banning PFAs due to cancer risk as well as developmental delays.

What Items Contain PFAs in Colorado

If we listed every product that contained PFAs we both would be here for way too long. PFAs are found in carpets, beauty makeup, food packaging, and children's toys amongst many other products.

Now do not expect anybody to come and take away your possessions or anything drastic. Colorado is currently phasing out these products and PFAs, known as forever chemicals, will slowly not be in our products anymore.
