Peeping Tom Commits Suicide in Fort Collins
The man arrested for window peeping on Wednesday committed suicide Friday morning.
On Thursday we reported Steven Christensen, 58, was arrested on multiple allegations this week, including invasion of privacy for sexual gratification. Today, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office sent out a news release about an unattended death investigation at a residence north of Fort Collins.
An updated news release revealed the identity of the male victim as being 58-year-old Steven Christensen. Fort Collins Police Services' Public Information Officer, Kate Kimble, confirmed in a phone call that this is the same person.
On Friday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m., Fort Collins police and Larimer County Sheriff's deputies responded to an address on Highway 1 to service a search warrant. As officers attempted contact at the front door, a gunshot was heard. Christensen was found deceased on the property with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
No officers fired their guns, nor were any officers injured.
This Wednesday, Christensen was arrested after he was caught entering a victim's yard on Circle Drive. Multiple residents on the street had reported suspicious activity near their property, even capturing Christensen on security cameras on several occasions.
