What Is Civic Engagement and Why Does It Matter?

You might be wondering what civic engagement is. Civic engagement, according to WalletHub, looks at voter participation, volunteer hours, and residents who participate in organizations and associations.

Some examples of your civic duty are voting, jury duty, or participating in your local community. Nearly 80 percent of eligible voters voted in the last election. That is a huge turnout compared to other states around the country.
