More Than Movies: Tour Estes Park’s Historic & Wonderful Park Theatre
Estes Park's movie theater is more than 100 years old, and is the oldest single-house motion picture theater in the U.S. that was built to be a movie theater.
It's all but certain that not enough people have gotten to enjoy a movie in one of Colorado's treasures, the historic Park Theatre on Moraine Avenue in Estes Park.
Did you know the 80-foot tower of the Park Theatre is not as old as the theatre itself? Or, did you know that Park Theatre received a special exemption to have neon in their sign? These tours that the theatre is offering is going to giving you even more information, up close.
"To Kill A Mockingbird" will be showing at Park Theatre in November of 2022.

For about the cost of an adult's regular movie ticket, folks will be able to get a good look around the theater that was constructed in 1913. Back then, Estes Park was not the bustling (mostly) tourist town of today; though you'd suspect there were even more elk around, with less people to be bothered by.
The $12 tour will take about 45 minutes, taking you through the theater, which has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984. It'll be fun to hear about the movie house's history, including its "ghost stories;" A building this old, has to have at least two or three good ones.
