In a statement from the U.S. Department of the Interior last month, two of the fee-free entrance holidays have been removed from the 2026 calendar: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 19th, 2026)  and Juneteenth (June 19th, 2026).

In 2025, the fee-free entrance days included:

  • Monday, January 20 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

  • Saturday, April 19 – First Day of National Park Week

  • Thursday, June 19 – Juneteenth

  • Tuesday, July 16 – Bureau of Land Management Birthday

  • Monday, August 4 – Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act

  • Saturday, September 27 – National Public Lands Day

  • Sunday, October 12 – National Wildlife Refuge Week (First Sunday)

  • Tuesday, November 11 – Veterans Day

The Trump administration has added several "resident-only patriotic fee-free days for 2026."

These include Flag Day/President Trump's birthday, Independence Day Weekend, Constitution Day, and Theodore Roosevelt's birthday.

  • President’s Day (February 16, 2026)
  • Memorial Day (May 25, 2026)
  • Flag Day/President Trump’s birthday (June 14, 2026)
  • Independence Day weekend (July 3–5, 2026)
  • 110th Birthday of the National Park Service (August 25, 2026)
  • Constitution Day (Sept. 17, 2026)
  • Theodore Roosevelt’s birthday (Oct. 27, 2026)
  • Veteran’s Day (November 11, 2026)

There are currently four National Parks in Colorado: Rocky Mountain, Mesa Verde, Great Sand Dunes and Black Canyon of the Gunnison.
