Many communities that are comparable to Fort Collins, Colorado, have on-street paid parking meters. Some of those cities include Boulder, Colorado, and Idaho Springs, Colorado. Eugene, Oregon; Manitou Springs, Colorado; Missoula, Montana; College Station, Texas; Park City, Utah; and Columbus, Ohio.

If the parking meters are implemented in Old Town Fort Collins, it could bring millions of dollars in revenue to the city. However, the approximate cost for the parking meters would be a significant investment at first.

According to the study, the parking spaces would cost anywhere from $1.50 to $2 per hour to park in these areas. This would also mean that parking garages and lots in the vicinity of Old Town Fort Collins would see a flat-rate fee of $1 to $2 per hour.
