Denver Nuggets all-world player and defending two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic just got paid in a huge way to stay in Denver with the Nuggets.

The Nuggets and Jokic agreed on a record-breaking 5-year $270 million dollar deal that will keep him in the Mile High City, and he's worth every penny.

The 28-year-old Serbian will be going from the 28th highest-paid player in the NBA to the highest-paid player. And after his performance on the court over the past few years especially, it's well deserved.

When asked about his feelings when it came to staying in Denver with the Nuggets, Jokic had this to say about the situation:

"I would like it, of course, but it’s not something that I’m deciding,” said Jokic. “I think of course if it’s offered — if (the) offer is on the table — of course, I’m going to accept it because I really like the organization and really like the people who work here.

“I’m in (a) really good relationship with people who work here, and a good relationship with everybody from the owner to, let’s say, the equipment manager,” he continued. “I think we have something that we’re building. It actually feels really good.”

So needless to say, The Joker got his wish and so did Nuggets fans, now it's time to fully build around him and hopefully have another championship banner to hang at Ball Arena sooner than later.
