Like the Luke Bryan song says, "Rain is a Good Thing", especially for us here in Colorado. It's especially a good start for the month of May since we had one of the driest Aprils on record.

With various fires sprouting up around Colorado over the past several weeks and the lack of precipitation over the past few months, any and all rain is welcome and flat-out needed. DIA has recorded over the past several hours and the results are in: we've already had our wettest day in a year.

Today we started off the first week of May looking and feeling like the Pacific Northwest - minus the lush green forests and the Pacific Ocean - with rain and cool drizzle that's expected to stay with us through mid-morning to early afternoon. We'll be lucky to get out of the 40's today.

While we are getting the rain down here, the mountains are getting a fresh coat of snow today and will throughout the week as we are expected to get more rain with the next system that's expected to roll through here on Tuesday into Wednesday.

The weather calms down later in the week and we will be back into the 80s and see plenty of sunshine for the weekend.
