Northern Colorado’s First Freeze Is Coming In The Next Week
If you've been whining about the heat like me, get ready. If you haven't, sorry, some temperature changes are coming to the weather in the next week.
After the past couple of weeks of summer-like heat with temperatures pushing 90 degrees and our air conditioners still on full blast, a blast of cold air will be hitting Colorado, bringing about a 20-25 degree temperature swing.
According to the weather crew at KDVR Fox 31, our first freeze could be coming early next week as two cold fronts have been spotted moving our way. As for snow, it doesn't look like we're going to see any, but that could be a different story in the mountains as some much-needed moisture looks to be coming for the higher elevations.
The first cold front, and the smaller of the two on their way, is expected to hit this weekend bringing temperatures down into the low to mid-70s. But early next week, we could see high temperatures barely in the 60s. When I opened up my trusty iPhone this morning, I noticed that by mid-week next week, we'll be in the 5's. For highs. Ahhhh, that's more like it.
