Northern Colorado Moms React to the End of Target Cartwheel Perks
A discount and a prize, at Target? It's been possible, but it's going away. The Cartwheel perks have been a Target shopping moms reward.
Well, last week Cartwheel members received an email saying the perk program was going away as of August 27th. At that same moment you could hear Target-loving moms crying everywhere. Not really, but, there has been a pretty strong reaction. I share below what some of my Northern Colorado mom friends had to say. Personally, I hope they come up with a new program that takes a little less work. Scanning barcodes wasn't always easy, especially if shopping with kids, but getting $10 off purchases, or a sweet water bottle, was a nice reward for spending time and money at Target.
Erin of Fort Collins said "I'm totally in the swing of using it now. I love scanning a barcode and seeing a coupon!! Then the total being lowered at checkout. Pure joy. Ha! Dumb Target. They better bring back something even better."
Lynn of Fort Collins said "I went through all 5 stages of grief reading that they were ending the perks program."
Kim of Loveland said "It is disappointing that perks is going away. With all the money I spend on TP and diapers there, it was nice to be rewarded with a free perk (I got sunglasses, a new shirt and even a CD) it was a fun treat for mom. I hope they replace it with something else."
The email received by Cartwheel members looked like this:
