A Northern Colorado man has been arrested and accused of possessing thousands of images and videos of acts of sexual abuse on children. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest on Tuesday of a 28-year-old man.

The six-month-long investigation started in October 2023 after a tip came from the National  Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The following month after the investigation began, a search warrant was issued for the suspect's home.

Months of processing digital evidence resulted in the arrest warrant for James Cameron Denny of Fort Collins, Colorado. Denny was booked into the Larimer County Jail on May 7, 2024, on the following charges:

Abusing a child causes a ripple effect of lasting harm far beyond the act itself. I’m disgusted by anyone who would view such materials for their own gratification,

Said Sheriff John Feyen in the release, adding:

We can’t turn a blind eye to the impact of this behavior. Our investigators will continue to fight for those whose innocence was stolen.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office says these charges are merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
