New Smucker’s Facility Means More Jobs (and Uncrustables) for Northern Coloradans

The J.M. Smucker Company is opening a $340 million manufacturing facility in Northern Colorado, bringing more jobs and Uncrustables to our region (and the country).

According to the Times-Call, the new facility will create 500 jobs by the entire project's completion (projected for 2019) and will focus on manufacturing Smucker's Uncrustables sandwiches. The product is currently produced in Scottsville, Kentucky, but another facility is needed to supply the demand for this product growing in popularity.

Construction depends on approval of tax and business incentives. While property purchase is pending, we do know it will be somewhere in Longmont.

According to the product's website, Smucker's Uncrustables come in various filling and bread options like chocolate flavored hazelnut, honey, grape, strawberry, and raspberry jam, and whole wheat or white bread. There's also a reduced sugar option for these "packed with love" peanut butter sandwiches.

Fun fact: you can also order Uncrustables on Amazon instead of picking them up from the store, which is sort of ironic because Colorado is also getting a new Amazon fulfillment center in Aurora.
