New Belgium Fort Collins Giving Free Beer to Healthcare Workers This Week
Starting Thursday, healthcare workers in Northern Colorado can unwind with a free six pack of beer from New Belgium.
The Fort Collins brewery shared on its Instagram that between Thursday, October 21 and Sunday, October 24, local healthcare workers can stop by the taproom and claim a six pack on the house. All you need to do is be over 21 and show a valid ID, and of course, be a healthcare worker.
The brewery said that it's their way of celebrating the frontline's hard work, which no doubt, they have endured a lot over the last year and a half. But, healthcare workers in Fort Collins are still very much taking on the brunt of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Larimer County COVID-19 data, the seven-day positivity rate is over seven percent and it's considered a high risk area. There are at least 90 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Larimer County and local ICUs are at 107 percent capacity.
Because of that, the county is bringing back its indoor mask mandate on Wednesday, October 20 at noon. According to the Larimer County Public Health Director, the order will be in effect for at least 21 consecutive days, and will be extended until there are less than 65 COVID-19 patients in the county's hospitals, ICU capacity is less than 90 percent, the county case rate is below 300 out of 100,000 and the seven-day positivity rate remains below ten percent.
Right now, roughly two out of three Larimer County residents are vaccinated. 86 percent of residents 70 and older are fully vaccinated, which is the highest-vaccinated age group.
