Unsolved Northern Colorado Murders

When I think of Northern Colorado, I think of the word safe. And then I discovered an archive (Google) of unsolved murders in Northern Colorado. What a trip.

Let's take a look at some messed-up unsolved murders in Northern Colorado.

Peggy Hettrick

This one especially freaks me out because I drive by the location where the body was found back in 1987. Peggy Hettrick was walking near Landings Drive in Fort Collins.

Her body was found by a bicyclist. She had been stabbed multiple times, and there were signs of mutilation. It's horrible, and it's one of the most notorious unsolved Northern Colorado murders.

Denise Davenport

A University of Northern Colorado student, Denise Davenport, was last seen on February 24th in 1985. Denise worked at the Greeley Mall, and her boyfriend's car was later found on the UNC campus.

Many people held out hope that Denise would come home, but her body was found two months after disappearing in the South Platte River in Greeley.

This case has been investigated for years, but sadly, it was never solved.

John Robert Miller

John Robert was killed in a hit-and-run while walking down Highway 287. The driver never stopped to help, so it's considered a homicide.

John Jacoby

I feel like this one happened yesterday. John was riding his bike along County Road 15 in Windsor when he was shot twice. Even with a fifty-thousand-dollar reward, the case was never solved.

Investigators were able to link the murder of John Jacoby to Cori Romero, who survived, from Fort Collins, and William Cannol from Loveland, who sadly passed.

And those are just some of Northern Colorado's most notorious unsolved murders.
