If you are someone who loves to gaze at the sky and look for something incredible amongst the stars, I've got some exciting news for you.
Over the next few weeks, people in Colorado will be able to see multiple meteor showers make their way across the night sky.

When to See the Alpha Capricornids Meteor Shower Over Colorado
In a report from Science Alert, on July 12th, 2025 the Alpha Capticornids started shooting through the sky near planet. If you're worried that you missed it, don't freak out!
Peak Viewing in Colorado: July 29–30 at 10:00 PM
This meteor shower will be at its peak between July 29th and 30th with peak viewing around 10:00 PM MT. Experts say that there will be only about five per hour, but they are actually incredibly bright and long-lasting.
For Coloradans, it will be most visible during the second half of the night, according to reports.
So, even if you are in a more crowded city with light pollution, you should be able to catch a glimpse. To top it all off, due to the moon phase (waxing crescent) the fireballs should be pretty visible.

Southern Delta Aquariids: A Late-Night Show for Early Risers
If you want to see the full cycle of a meteor shower, you won't have to wait too long. Starting on July 18th, 2025 through the beginning of August, Southern Delta Aquariids will make their way into our neck of the galaxy.
Best Viewing Window: 2 AM–4 AM on July 29–30
According to NASA, the peak visibility for this specific event is July 29th and 30th with 20 to 25 meteors shooting through the night sky per hour.. If you want to catch a good look at the, you'll have to stay up late...

The best time to watch them is from 2 AM to 4 AM, according to reports.
The Perseids Meteor Shower: Colorado’s Biggest Celestial Event of the Summer
Now we're getting to the main event or "the big one" as astronomy experts like to say. Perseids, a meteor shower consisting of 50 to 75 meteors per hour will begin to be visible in the Northern Hemisphere on July 17th, according to reports.
Peak Viewing: August 12–13 from 3 AM to 5 AM
The peak of this event is estimated to be on August 12th through the 13th. You'll be able to catch a glimpse of these anytime after midnight. However, the best time to watch them here in Colorado will be at around 3 AM to 5 AM.
