Man Tries to Switch Place with Dog in Car to Avoid Being Arrested
Well, here is an odd story to tell you about. A Colorado man has been arrested for allegedly drinking while intoxicated according to KDVR. That isn't the weird part. Officers stopped a vehicle in Springfield, Colorado, which is located in the southeast part of the state after the driver was caught going 22 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Police officers initiated a traffic stop for the speeding offense at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night. This is where it starts to get weird. When the stop was initiated and the officers approached the vehicle, they saw the man attempting to switch places with the dog that was in the passenger seat.
The man proceeded to get out of the vehicle and claim that he was not the one who was driving. Police officers state that the man was showing clear signs of intoxication and when he was asked how much he had to drink, the man ran away.
The foot chase did not last long as the man was apprehended less than 60 feet away from the initial scene. The investigation revealed that the man was driving from Las Animas to Pueblo when he got lost in Springfield, Colorado.
As it turns out, the man had two active warrants out for his arrest in Pueblo. He was booked into the Baca County Jail and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while impaired, driving under suspicion, speeding, 20-24 miles per hour over the speed limit, and resisting arrest.
The real question we all want to know is... What happened to the dog when the man was arrested? We want some answers as to the wellbeing of the pooch that for all intents and purposes got thrown the blame from his owner for driving.
