Be on the Lookout for This New Whiskey Out of Northern Colorado
A lot can happen over a few years. History is made, relationships are formed, and life changes. Take a moment to think about what has happened in your life in eight years. For me, there have been a lot of great memories made and just as many lifetime milestones.
I like to consider my favorite spirit as a time capsule. Whiskey is put into a barrel and it sits there, undisturbed, for a certain amount of time and comes out something completely different. The spirit has had time to rest while pulling the flavor of the char out of a white oak barrel all the while developing a sweet taste and aroma while everyday life happens around us. Call me weird if you will, but when I take a sip of a whiskey that is eight years old, I like to think back to a time over those eight years while I am drinking it. Strangely, it brings back memories that I wouldn't necessarily think of otherwise.
Needless to say, I enjoy whiskey and its history very much. When I discovered there was a new whiskey coming out of Northern Colorado, I couldn't wait to try it. Lasso Whiskey is a new brand that comes from Windsor, Colorado and it is sure to rope you in with its flavor profiles and three different variations.

I sat down to talk with Lasso Whiskey's Hunter Hoshiko at a super secret speakeasy to talk about these new Northern Colorado whiskies. Hunter is also a lover of whiskey. So much in fact, he started the brand, Lasso. Hunter says that Lasso Whiskey is paying homage to the agricultural and farming industries in Colorado and I could see why he said that. Taking my first sip of Lasso Whiskey just felt like Colorado to me.
Windsor's Lasso Whiskey Lineup
There are three different variations of Lasso Whiskey. Small Batch Colorado Rye, Small Batch Colorado Wheat, and Roper Reserve Cask Strength.
Lasso Small Batch Colorado Rye Whiskey
This rye whiskey is 51 percent rye, 45 percent corn, 4 percent malted barley, and aged for eight years. Rye gives off a spicy taste to the whiskey but is complemented by the taste of caramel, vanilla, and fruit. Lasso Small Batch Colorado Rye Whiskey has an MSRP of $79.99.
Lasso Small Batch Colorado Wheat Whiskey
The Small Batch Colorado Wheat Whiskey comprises 95 percent wheat and 5 percent malted barley and is aged for six years in white oak barrels. For those who love the tasting notes of sweet cream, vanilla, and a hint of wood, you'll love this wheat whiskey. Lasso Small Batch Colorado Wheat Whiskey has an MSRP of $79.99.
Lasso Roper Reserve Whiskey
Lasso's Roper Reserve Whiskey is certainly special. Roper Reserve is a single-barrel whiskey that is aged eight years and bottled at cask strength. This single-barrel whiskey is sure to impress whiskey connoisseurs in Northern Colorado. Strong, but smooth with a bunch of flavor and depth. Lasso's Roper Reserve Single Barrel Whiskey has an MSRP of $99.99.
