Who Was Larry the Camel?
One famous Colorado pet tragically passed away earlier this week after a freak accident, according to CBS News.
If you've ever gone to a 4th of July parade in Steamboat Springs, you might remember Larry the Camel.
Larry Was a Parade Regular and Colorado Icon
This camel became a bit of a local celebrity over his brief life.
According to Steamboat Pilot & Today, Larry lived at Troublesome Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation where he also acted as a goodwill ambassador.
Larry the Camel Appeared on National TV
In 2019, Larry the Camel was featured on an Animal Planet show called 'Dr. Jeff: Rocky Mountain Vet.'

What Happened to Colorado's Larry the Camel?
After achieving local fame and bringing joy to parts of Northwestern Colorado, Larry has died.
The news came out early on Tuesday morning.
Larry Was Struck by Lightning on the 4th of July
According to reports, Larry the camel was struck by lightning on Friday, July 4th in Kremmling.
His owner, Bethany Aurin, told officials that the tragic event happened after the camel spent an afternoon visiting residents at Cliffview Assisted Living Center.
