Larimer SWAT Arrests Barricaded Couple Who Shot At Troopers
Some Fort Collins neighborhoods were temporarily locked down to "shelter in place" on Thursday as the Larimer County SWAT Team successfully negotiated with armed suspects.
The pursuit of Oklahomans 37-year-old Jesse Allan Spahr and 27-year-old Katelyn Sidney Bohl began in Wyoming on I-25 around 11 a.m. Wyoming Highway Patrol reported the two being in a physical disturbance with each other while heading south towards Colorado on I-25.
A Larimer County Sheriff's Press release said that as troopers pursued the couple, Spahr and Bohl both fired shots at the law enforcement. Fortunately, no troopers were injured.
The couple led law enforcement on a chase to Terry Lake Road, where they drove through a closed garage door and unlawfully entered the home and barricaded themselves. The lone resident of the home escaped safely.
Larimer County Regional SWAT then negotiated with the couple, who eventually surrendered without incident around 6:30 p.m.
The suspects are being both being charged with:
- Attempted 1st Degree Murder of Peace Officer (Class 2 Felony)
- Attempted 1st Degree Assault (Class 4 Felony)
- Possession of Weapon by Previous Offender (Class 6 Felony)
- Eluding (Class 5 Felony)
- Felony Criminal Mischief
