Growing Up Across the Country Before Calling Colorado Home

Originally, I was born in New York before moving to Pennsylvania in the fall of 2001. When I turned eighteen, I decided to go to a college in New York State.

After graduating university during the height of the COVID pandemic, I searched all across the country for a job. Luckily, I was able to fine one in Northeastern Iowa.

Why I Love Living in Northern Colorado

Most days I absolutely love living in the Centennial State.

Northern Colorado might be one of the most beautiful places I've ever called home. The mountains are absolutely breathtaking and there always seems to be something to do.

From massive community events like the Greeley Stampede, to hikes in Horsetooth, you can always find something to check out.

However, even though I do love Colorado...there is one teeny, tiny frustration I have with the state.

The One Thing I Miss About the Midwest in Colorado

Where are all of the Kwik Stars?

If you've ever been to the Midwest you might know them better as Kwik Trips.

I was telling some of my co-workers about how excited I was to stop into a Kwik Star/Trip on my drive out East for the holidays. They both gave me an odd look and said that I can find plenty of them around here.

After some questions, I realized they were referring to QuikTrip which is actually a completely different brand

What Makes Kwik Trip a Midwest Favorite Convenience Store

Kwik Trips are a brand of Midwestern convenience stores/gas stations. They serve up some yummy hot food like chicken tenders, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, rotisserie chicken AND they've got some of the best glazed donuts.

OH! You can't forget they're delicious deep fried cheese curds!

Service is good, gas is reasonable, and the bathrooms are usually pretty clean.

The restrooms are not on Buc-ees level, but they're still great!

Comedian Charlie Berens described Kwik Trips best, "It's like the Garden of Eden with twice the temptation and cleaner bathrooms!"

How Many Kwik Trip Locations Exist in the U.S.?

There are 905 Kwik Star/Kwik Trip locations throughout the country, according to ScrapeHero.

The majority of their locations are spread out across Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they'll be expanding outside of the Midwest anytime soon, but a girl can hope!
