I am pretty sure that one of my neighbors is a couple of million dollars richer this week, as someone has hit it big on the Mega Millions lottery.

According to 9 News, one lucky lottery player won two million dollars. The ticket was purchased in Northern Colorado, just blocks away from my home in Johnstown.

Whoever won $2 million on the Mega Millions lottery ticket matched five of the six numbers with a 2x multiplier, making the lucky ticket holder an instant millionaire.

While the ticket holder didn't claim the entire jackpot, a few million dollars is nothing to scoff at. The winning ticket was for the Mega Millions lottery drawing on Tuesday, June 17, and was sold at the Johnstown 7-Eleven.

I find that this winning ticket is pretty surreal, as I was just in the Johnstown 7-Eleven on Monday evening and thought about purchasing a few tickets for the $280 Mega Millions jackpot drawing, but didn't. What a shame, right?

The Mega Millions Jackpot Increases to Over $300 Million

Since no one managed to get all six numbers correct on Tuesday evening for the Mega Millions drawing, the jackpot has now increased to an estimated $302 million for the drawing on Friday night.

Considering that one of my neighbors just won $2 million on a single ticket gives me the motivation to at least purchase one ticket for the drawing. A cool couple hundred million dollars would be pretty exciting. I will say, if I did win, I wouldn't tell anyone, but there would certainly be signs.
