Man Arrested After Ramming Weld County Sheriff's Vehicle

A 52-year-old man was behind bars at last report after he allegedly rammed a Weld County Sheriff's vehicle and then refused to leave his vehicle for two hours.

That's according to a post on the Weld County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. According to the post, the incident started with a report of a man trying to enter a security gate on private property in Greeley at 6 a.m. on Feb. 21.

A patrol deputy went to the scene and tried to talk to the suspect, who was driving a pickup truck. According to the post, the suspect refused to cooperate. The deputy kept trying to talk to him, but the suspect responded by ramming the deputy's car with his pickup. Police from Greeley, Evans, Millikin, and Johnstown rushed to the scene to back up the sheriff's office at the scene.

The suspect, identified as 52-year-old Christian Lujan still refused to leave his pickup, so police closed off roads in the area and a reverse 911 was sent out to keep people out of the area while the confrontation continued.
