The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on December 24, 2025, at the Laurel House Apartments, located at 3197 North 12th Street in Grand Junction, Colorado.

The man, who has yet to be identified, was in his home, apparently alone, when two men, identified as 23-year-old Anthony Bowker and 18-year-old Nevin “Alex” Garcia, broke into his apartment carrying what appeared to be rifles. However, it was later determined that the weapons were actually BB guns.
After gaining entrance to the man’s room, one of the aggressors allegedly strangled the man until he lost consciousness. The motive behind the crime has not yet been determined, and it appears that the man who was attacked is expected to recover.
It has also been reported that the man who was attacked was acquainted with his attackers, though police have not revealed how the three men knew each other prior to the incident.
