For example, Cava is absolutely taking off here in Colorado. We’ve seen a 54% growth in consumer interest over the past year.

Astonishingly, Cava opened 72 new locations across the country in 2023 alone.

On the other hand, Long John Silver’s, America’s least favorite chain, also is not loved by Coloradans either.

There used to be a decent amount of them in the Denver metro area. However, only four remain, as it is clear Coloradans want nothing to do with the place.

However, a new study has found the most overpriced chain in the United States, and honestly, it might shock you.

That’s right, out of all the fast food chains in the US, Wendy’s was ranked as the most expensive. There are a total of 131 Wendy’s locations in Colorado alone.

It is true that because Wendy’s mantra of “fresh, never frozen” means you’ll be getting higher quality meals than its main competitors, Mcdonalds and Burger King.

However, to say it is the most expensive seems to be a bit of a stretch.

For one, places like Five Guys, while absolutely delicious, typically costs much more. Same goes for places like Shake Shack, Chipotle, and Chick-Fil-A, which are all mentioned on the list.

It is fair to note one thing though; the prices for all fast food chains are increasing at a concerning rate.

In fact, The Street found that in general, fast food prices have increased by 21.5% since December of 2019, which is truly an astonishing number.

The main players are absolute classics when it comes to cheap fast food spots.

McDonald’s is an obvious choice. However, they are one of the most egregious when it comes to price gouging over the past few years. Recently, they have announced that they are looking to unveil a new $5 value meal to gain back consumer trust.

More of the classics include Burger King, Taco Bell, and Little Caesar’s, all of which are considered some of the cheapest spots to this day.

What do you think? Are you a Wendy's fan, or do you think the price outweighs the quality? Are there restaurant's you would consider to be more overpriced than Wendy's?
