Data from ZanerHardenLaw.com names Colorado's Million Dollar Highway as one of the most dangerous in the state for crashes. U.S. 550 between Silverton and Ouray averages 40 crashes every year and seven fatalities.

Colorado's Worst Route for Trucks

There was a four-year period from 2011 to 2015 when a total of 49 semi-trucks crashed on U.S. 160 through southern Colorado. These crashes frequently happen on the west side of Wolf Creek Pass through the switchbacks. The route has a risky reputation among semi-truck drivers.
