After making its Colorado debut just three short years ago, In-N-Out Burger is set to make its Northern Colorado debut soon, but the traffic plan unveiled by the City of Loveland looks to be quite the mess in waiting. Here we go...

In-N-Out Burger Coming To Loveland, Colorado

I remember the very first time I had an In-N-Out Burger. I was on vacation with my folks and brother in California, and after hearing all of the hype for years and years, we finally were able to experience it for ourselves. What was wild is that In-N-Out Burger has been in California forever, and there was still a huge line to get through the drive-thru or dine inside. That right there was a good sign of things to come.

I love In-N-Out's burgers. To me, they're delicious and worth the hype. Fresh never frozen meat, melty cheese, crisp veggies, all cooked and made to order, they nailed the burger department. The fries are pretty meh, but that seems to be the consensus of most In-N-Out fans. Nevertheless, I was right there in line within the first few weeks that In-N-Out opened its first Colorado locations in 2020. Currently, the closest location to Northern Colorado is in Thornton, but that will soon change with the finishing touches being put on its newest location in Loveland, Colorado. Being so close to Highway 34, how is this chaos going to affect traffic?

As you can imagine, the excitement from the Northern Colorado community about our very first In-N-Out location is real, and opening day and beyond is going to be absolutely insane.  To prepare for that, the City of Loveland traffic engineers, in conjunction with In-N-Out, CDOT, and the Centerra Marketplace, have come up with a "plan" to help control the traffic flow as much as possible. Below is the traffic map that was released by the City today.

The plan, as seen above, is to use Hahns Peak Drive to get to the new In-N-Out location. Using Fall River Drive off of 34 won't be an option to join the line and Rocky Mountain Avenue will also cause you to be re-routed as well. From the experiences we've had, the traffic flow plans that had been drawn up for other Colorado locations when they first opened seemed to flow fairly well. Being as Highway 34 is kind of a mess right there anyway, I'm not sure how optimistic I am about this not causing a total traffic meltdown around Centerra.

Only time will tell, but once the grand opening date is announced, I would plan on avoiding the area altogether for at least their first weekend being open. Honestly, the drive to Thornton's location might get you served faster than the wait you'll be experiencing on opening weekend in Loveland. I know the building is up and it's closer than ever to opening its doors, but here's some pix I took at the site of the new restaurant, just a few short months ago.

The Loveland, Colorado In-N-Out Construction Is Finally Happening

The old Mimi's Cafe location has been demolished, and construction began at its former site for the new Loveland In-N-Out. It seems to be moving pretty quickly as you can see in the pictures we took just weeks after Mimi's demise. **The location is much further along at this point as these were taken much earlier in the construction period**

This Local Old School Burger Restaurant Is One Of The Best In Colorado

Since 1961, Jim's Burger Haven has been the standard for local smash burger restaurants around Colorado. Home of Colorado's "Original Smash Burger," it's a must-try next time you're in the area. Here's a look around one of Colorado's most famous burger joints.
