Weld Food Bank Desperately Needs Local Volunteers
With the government shutdown keeping people from being paid, and uncertainty with Coloradans receiving SNAP benefits, food banks across the state, like the country are stepping things up to help. Weld Food Bank out of Greeley, is looking for community members to volunteer in helping their fellow community members who may be in need.
Weld Food Bank Makes Adjustments to Help Community
In late 2025, the Weld Food Bank made temporary adjustments to their programs, expanding services to help the upwards of 40,000 people in Weld Country who were or could be facing food insecurity. The changes would help to keep long lines from getting longer at their warehouse; to shorten those lines, more volunteers would be neccessary.

If you've ever volunteered at Weld Food Bank or the Food Bank for Larimer County, you know that that it can be very fulfilling. Our radio station staffers have often been at Weld Food Bank sorting food items and helping to fill packages. Knowing that your efforts are going to help those in need, makes your time worth it.

They created a new 2-hour Lunch Distribution shift from 11:30am to 1:30pm on those days. The main task for this volunteer opportunity would be packing carts with food and taking them out to individuals' cars waiting in their parking lot. Volunteers for the warehouse could register HERE.
