Running any small business in Colorado takes a lot of work and determination. For B Sweet Cupcakes in Downtown Loveland, that work and determination lead to success, but being successful doesn't necessarily mean security.

Why Is B Sweet Cupcakes in Downtown Loveland Closing?

You just don't know what you're going to find on Facebook when you open it up on Friday morning; on June 12, 2026, I opened it up to find a vide posted by B Sweet Cupcakes. That video was the shop's owner, Dana, letting people know that the building they were in had new owners and those new owners were discontinuing their lease.

B Sweet Cupcakes Announces Closing Date and New Location

In an update video on September 9, Dana discussed that they would be closing the shop in Downtown Loveland on September 19 at 4:00 p.m; in addition, after a couple of weeks of emptying the 4th Street spot, B Sweet would be getting things ready to open (at a yet-to-be-announced date) at its new location, 357 Mountain in Berthoud.

The 4th Street renovation project was very hard on the business in early 2026; Dana was very upfront about her disappointment in how the City of Loveland went about the whole thing, leaving the small businesses to struggle and suffer losses during the construction.

What's Next for B Sweet Cupcakes' Loveland Spot?

Soon, we may know who's going into 425 E. 4th Street; the question being will the location become a new business (hopefully a little restaurant) or become an office space of some sort? Of course, that new business will get the benefit of not having to deal with the construction. I will be one who'll be watching the space intensely.

When I paid my last visit to the Downtown Safeway on its last day, October 25, 2025, it was with trepidation: I didn't want to see how sad it probably looked, but like watching a wreck on the highway, it was hard to not see the how it looked.
