It's March in Colorado. This means you shouldn't put away your snow shovels just yet. Parts of Northern Colorado got a decent amount of snow last week and others got only a dusting. It has always intrigued me how certain areas can get more or less snow in just a few hundred feet. Mother Nature, you sure are wild.

This week, Northern Colorado will see spring weather with forecasted highs well into the 60s and nearly hitting 70 degrees later in the week. That could all change this upcoming weekend with the possibility of more snow and colder temperatures on the way.

According to the College of DuPage Numerical Forecasting Model, Northern Colorado appears to be in for more snow... At least for now. The College of DuPage GFS model shows a decent amount of snow impacting nearly all of Colorado.

The early GFS forecast model for the run on Monday, March 18 at noon shows snow starting in the early morning hours of Monday, March 25, and snow falling throughout most of the day.

How Much Snow Could Northern Colorado Get?

According to this GFS model, it appears that areas of Northern Colorado could see 10 to 12 inches of snow on Monday, March 25. It also appears that another round of snow is showing up in the forecast on Sunday, March 31 with approximately six to seven more inches of snow.

Since this forecasting model is so far out, there is always the chance that we won't get any snow at all. However, Colorado's snowiest month is March, so it would only be fitting to see more snow before the end of the month. Forecasting models often change to show more or less snow this far in advance. So be sure to take the forecast with a grain of salt until closer to the actual date. Even then, the possible snowstorm can dissipate or track somewhere else other than Northern Colorado.

Are you looking forward to more snow in Northern Colorado or are you ready for warmer spring-like weather?
