Hillary Just Lost Votes Over Stance On Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Pantsuits aren't #basic enough, anyway.
Hillary Clinton just admitted she isn't a "pumpkin spice latte kind of gal," and is being (jokingly) slammed for it on the internet.
Clinton confessed her deepest, darkest secret in a Facebook Q&A on Monday - the day before National Coffee Day - prompting PSL lovers to defend their beloved drink.
"Are you a pumpkin spice latte kind of gal?" asked Claire Celsi, a communications consultant from Des Moines.
Clearly not fully understanding political correctness (obviously joking - chill), Clinton replied, "Ha! The true answer is I used to be until I saw how many calories are in them."
Washington Post political reporter Chris Cillizza takes this issue very seriously - so much so that he had a meltdown on Twitter over PSL.
"The pumpkin spice latte is Starbucks best drink, no matter what Hillary Clinton says," he wrote on Twitter, adding that there are "AT LEAST two drinks worse for you at Starbucks."
Other commentators on the internet were not too happy, either.
"Considering basing my vote on candidates' #PSL positions...Thank you for speaking out on this important issue," wrote wine writer Esther Mobley.
"Did Hillary Clinton just lose the #basic vote over her comments on the Starbucks PSL?" wrote food writer Suki B.
