A Super Flower Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse Set To Hit Colorado Sky
Heads up, you may want to set a reminder on your phone to keep your eyes on the sky on May 15 as there is going to be a full moon eclipse coming that night.
May’s full moon reaches its peak on May 15-16, 2022, plus, this full moon, which is being referred to as the "Flower Moon", will coincide with a total lunar eclipse for most of North America.
Now, I'm no astrologist - far from it, not even close to being an expert - but I do think it's really cool when these different moons appear in our sky. Whether they're super bright, a cool color, or look incredibly large, there's just something about seeing the moon in a different way.
A lunar eclipse is another one of those phenomena that are just really neat as well.
Here's what we know about the one that's coming on May 15th into the 16th.
- The Moon will begin entering the partial shadow of Earth at 9:32 p.m. EDT on Sunday night, May 15
- The darkening of the Moon will not stand out until the Moon starts entering the full shadow of the Earth at approximately 10:28 p.m.
- It will take until 11:29 p.m. for the full shadow of Earth to cover the Moon.
