Gas prices continue to rise and are dominating headlines heading into summer, but they aren't the only thing getting too expensive. Eating out at restaurants and fast food is getting costly, going on trips is expensive, and groceries have gone up in price as well. The cost of living is becoming outrageous, and many are beginning to make budget cuts to afford the necessities like food, water, and rent. While grocery prices in Colorado continue to go up, it is worth asking, how do grocery prices in Colorado compare to those in other states?

Grocery prices are getting ridiculous, and it may be worth moving to another state to be able to afford groceries, or perhaps traveling to another state to shop and come back home. Visualcapitalist.com released a list of states with the highest grocery prices to the ones with the lowest. According to the study, Hawaii has the highest grocery prices, followed by Alaska, and California has the highest of the continental United States. Grocery prices in Colorado are not as bad as in other states, but the Centennial State is still above the national average. Colorado has the 19th-highest grocery prices and has a grocery price index of 101.2. For those unaware, 100 is the national average, so it is still slightly above being 1.2 percent more, which isn't terrible. For those wondering, Colorado has the 17th-highest cost of living as well.
