It looks as though parents who drive their kids to school might get a break courtesy of the Greeley Evans Transit (GET) and Greeley-Evans School District 6.

The Greeley-Evans School District has teamed up with GET (Greeley Evans Transit) and will be offering a new program this year called "RIDE Free with ID." The program is part of the Achieving Community Excellence (ACE) initiative and will begin service on Monday, August 11.

Any parent with a school age child, with valid school ID, will be allowed to ride for free anywhere on a designated GET route. and will continue through the entire school year. To make it even better, all buses are equipped with bike racks, so students can bike to bus stops along the way. (Click here for a map and listing of GET stops.)

To be eligible, students must show the bus driver proof of age or student status upon boarding. Students MUST be 18 or under and can belong to any public, private or charter school within District 6 school including Alternative Program students.
