I've lived in Northern Colorado for over 25 years and I never even knew it existed. Flatiron Reservoir is a beautiful spot just west of Loveland. I camped there last night with my family.

Flatiron is one of Larimer County's more picturesque parks. It's very close to Pinewood Reservoir and right next to Carter Lake.  You must make reservations if you plan to camp there on the weekends.  It books up fast. There are some great spots though, so it's worth the fierce competition.  There are even handicapped accessible camping spots and cabins available at Flatiron.

HOW TO GET THERE

Take highway 34 west of Loveland to County Road 29.  Turn left or go south.  Go for a couple miles till you get to County Road 18 E.  Turn right or west.  Watch for signs directing you to the park entrance.
